Admin Guide¶
Request Accounts¶
Preferred method:
Submit your account request via the DMHub form:
This web form collects all the required details (BSC email, desired username/display name, quota request) and speeds up processing.
Alternatively (legacy):
Email datamanagement@bsc.es with:
- Your BSC email address (default username)
- Name and surname (display name)
- Requested storage quota (default 1 GB)
- Any custom username/display name if needed
After approval you’ll receive a welcome email. Follow the link to set your password, accept the Terms of Use, and start using B2DROP. You’ll also be asked to opt in to maintenance‑notification emails—please accept or reject that subscription.
Groups and Group Folders for Group Administrators¶
Create a Group & Add Members¶
Preferred method:
1. Create new group via DMHub:
2. Add users to an existing group via DMHub:
These forms guide you through naming the group, listing initial members, or adding additional members.
Alternatively (legacy):
Email datamanagement@bsc.es with:
- Group name
- List of user email addresses to add
Update Group‑Folder Quota¶
Preferred method:
Submit a quota increase request via DMHub:
Specify the group folder path and desired new quota.
Alternatively (legacy):
Email datamanagement@bsc.es with:
- Group folder path
- Requested quota change
Managing File & Folder Permissions¶
As a group administrator, you automatically have the basic sharing permissions on your group folders:

If you need advanced permission rules (per‑user or per‑group Read/Write/Create/Delete/Share within a group folder), please request them:
Preferred method:
Use the same DMHub “update‑group‑folder‑quota” form and select “Advanced permissions” in the options.
Alternatively (legacy):
Email datamanagement@bsc.es with:
- Group folder path
- Users/groups and exact permissions to grant/deny

Permission inheritance rules: - Unset permissions inherit from the parent folder. - Allow overrides Deny. - A Deny at any higher‑level folder blocks access below, unless you explicitly Allow on a child item.
