Managing access of restricted files

If you have an admin role – or any role with "Manage File Permissions" role permission – you’ll receive a notification whenever someone requests access to a restricted file in your dataset. Here's how to manage these requests.

To manage these request access petitions, you will have to go to your dataset , then click on Edit dataset > Permissions > File.

Following these steps you will land in the following page:

Figure 2: File permissions page

In this page you can see your pending requests (Figure 2-1), and those users that already have access (Figure 2-2).

  • To approve a request, click the Grant button (Figure 2-1A).
  • To reject a request, click the Reject button (Figure 2-1B).

If a user has requested access to multiple files:

  • You can grant or reject all requests at once using the buttons above.
  • Alternatively, click in the Files column (Figure 2-1C), where a detailed table will pop up, allowing you to manage access permissions for each file individually (Figure 3).

Finally, for users who already have permission to download a file, you can revoke their access at any time by clicking the Remove Access button in Figure 2-2.
