Projects

A project is a central part of where you work on our data management plans. It is based on a knowledge model and uses one or more document template for generating documents.

Projects are fully collaborative, so you can share them with other researchers and work together.

Start a new project

1) You can create a new project by selecting Projects from the main menu on the left-hand side (Figure 2).

2) Then write a name for your project. You can change it later.

3) Select a Knowledge Model (see here the options).

4) Optionally, you can filter the questions in the questionnaire by using the question tags.

5) Finally, click on Create.

Once you’ve completed the steps above you’ll see the following page:

💡This example is using the “Common DSW Knowledge Model”. Each Knowledge Model has a different questionnaire, hence the image may vary.

All projects have different tabs that you can find right below the project name. These tabs are:

  • Questionnaire. This is the most important part, where you fill in all the details about the project by answering the questions in the questionnaire. More information here.

  • Metrics. In this tab in the project you can see a summary report for the whole questionnaire as well as for each individual chapter. Available if set in the Knowledge Model, you can find the score for each metric. More information here.

  • Preview. You can quickly see how the resulting document would look like in this tab. More information here.

  • Documents. In this tab you can manage the documents related to the project. You can see a list of all the documents with their format, file size, and document template used to create that document. More information here.

  • Settings. In this tab you can configure some details about the project. More information here.

Edit a project

You can always modify existing projects. For that you only have to go to your Project on your sidebar. It will display all your projects. Select the one you want to modify, it’ll automatically open the project in edition mode if you are either the Project owner or have the Editor role (see Collaborate with Others section for more details). All changes are automatically saved.
