How to Request an Account and Start Using B2DROP¶
B2DROP is available to both BSC users and external collaborators, following a simple account‑request process.
👤 1. BSC Users – How to Request Access¶
Preferred method (web form)¶
- Go to the DMHub form:
➡️ Request a B2DROP account - Fill in:
- BSC email (used as your default username)
- Display name (your name & surname)
- Requested quota (1 GB by default; increase if needed)
- Additional comments (e.g. custom username)
- Submit → Faster processing!
Alternatively (legacy email)¶
Send an email to datamanagement@bsc.es with:
- Your BSC email address
- Your name & surname
- Your requested storage quota
- Any custom username or display name requirements
🌐 2. External Collaborators (Non‑BSC Users)¶
B2DROP supports collaboration with external users—provided they’re invited by a BSC contact.
Preferred method (web form)¶
- In the same DMHub form, select “Invite external collaborator”.
- Provide:
- Name & surname of the external user
- Institutional email address
- Submit → Invitation sent automatically
Alternatively (legacy email)¶
Email datamanagement@bsc.es with:
- 🔤 Name & surname of the external collaborator
- 📧 Institutional email address
Once approved, the external user will receive an invitation link.
🚀 3. Getting Started After Approval¶
After your request is approved, you’ll receive a welcome email containing:

- 🔐 Set your password
- 📜 Read and accept the Terms of Use
- ✅ Log in and start using B2DROP
💡 Note: B2ACCESS authentication is not supported on the BSC B2DROP instance.
🖥️ 4. The B2DROP Dashboard¶
Once logged in, your Dashboard will display widgets such as:
- 📢 Announcements
- 📁 Recommended Files
You can personalize your view by adding or removing widgets.
