How to Request an Account and Start Using B2DROP

B2DROP is available to both BSC users and external collaborators, following a simple account request process.


๐Ÿ‘ค BSC Users โ€“ How to Request Access

To obtain an account, simply send an email to:

๐Ÿ“ฉ datamanagement@bsc.es

By default, your account will be created with:

  • ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ผ Your BSC email address as the username
  • ๐Ÿงพ Your name and surname as the Display Name
  • ๐Ÿ’พ A personal storage quota of 1 GB

โžก๏ธ You may also request a different username, Display Name, or increased storage quota in your email, if needed.


๐ŸŒ External Collaborators (Non-BSC Users)

B2DROP supports collaboration with external users โ€” as long as they are invited by someone at BSC.

How to Invite an External Collaborator

The BSC contact person should email datamanagement@bsc.es with:

  • ๐Ÿ”ค Name and surname of the external user
  • ๐Ÿ“ง Institutional email address of the external user

Once approved, the external user will receive an invitation to access the platform.


๐Ÿš€ Getting Started After Your Account Is Created

Once your account is approved, you will receive a welcome email with a link to activate your account:

First Steps:

  1. ๐Ÿ” Set your password
  2. ๐Ÿ“œ Read and accept the Terms of Use
  3. โœ… Log in and start using B2DROP

๐Ÿ’ก Note: B2ACCESS authentication is not supported on the BSC B2DROP instance.


๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ The B2DROP Dashboard

After logging in, you'll see the Dashboard, which includes widgets like:

  • ๐Ÿ“ข Announcements
  • ๐Ÿ“ Recommended Files

You can personalize your dashboard by adding or removing widgets.
