👥 Add Users to a B2Drop Group

Need to give collaborators access to an existing B2Drop group? This guide will show you how to request access for additional users through DM-Hub.

🧭 Step-by-Step Guide

1. Log into DM-Hub

Start by logging in to the correct version of DM-Hub:

2. Navigate to "My Petitions"

Use the sidebar menu to access My Petitions, where you can:

  • Review previous and active petitions
  • Create new service requests

3. Click on "Request a New Petition"

At the top of the page, switch to the "Request a new petition" tab.

4. Select Petition Type: "Add user to B2Drop Group"

In the list of available petition types, expand the B2Drop section and select:

  • ➕ Add user to B2Drop Group

Then click Continue to proceed.

5. Fill Out the Request Form

You will now see the following form:

Complete the form with the required information:

  • 📛 Group Name — The name of the B2Drop group you are part of.
  • 👤 List of users to grant access to the group
    Click "Add user to group" to insert each user's email address one by one.
  • 📝 Reason (optional) — Provide a short description if needed (e.g. user joining project team, needs access to shared dataset, etc.).

6. Submit the Petition

Click the Submit button when the form is complete.

📨 After submission:

  • You’ll get a confirmation email that your petition was received.
  • The Data Management team will review your request and, once approved, the users will be added to the group.

7. Await Approval

You will receive an email once your petition is approved or rejected.

  • ✅ If approved, the users will be granted access to the group.
  • ❌ If rejected, the email will contain the reason and suggested next steps.
