👥 Request a New B2Drop Group¶
B2Drop groups allow multiple users to collaborate by sharing a common folder, with controlled access and quota management. Through DM-Hub, you can request the creation of a new group and pre-assign its members easily.
🧭 Step-by-Step Guide¶
1. Log into DM-Hub¶
Visit the appropriate URL to log into DM-Hub:
- 🔒 For BSC users: https://datamanagement-hub.bsc.es
- 🌐 For external users: https://dm-hub.bsc.es
2. Navigate to "My Petitions"¶
In the sidebar menu, click My Petitions to access your petition history and start new requests.
3. Click on "Request a New Petition"¶
You'll find two tabs at the top of the My Petitions page:
- ✅ Request a new petition
- 📄 Your current petitions
Click on the "Request a new petition" tab.
4. Select Petition Type: "New B2Drop Group"¶
Choose the following option under the B2Drop category:
- 🗂️ New B2Drop Group
Then click Continue.
5. Fill Out the Request Form¶
You’ll be presented with a form titled:

Complete the fields below:

👥 Group Name (required):
Enter a descriptive and unique name for your new group. -
🗒️ Group Description (required):
Briefly explain the group’s purpose or what kind of collaboration it will support. -
👤 List of users to grant access:
Add the users you want to be part of this group. Use the "Add user to group" button to include additional members.
- 📝 Reason (optional):
Add any relevant context for the Data Management team to better understand the request.
6. Submit Your Petition¶
Click Submit once all required fields are completed.
📨 After submission: - You will receive a confirmation email. - The Data Management team will review your request. - If approved, your group will be created and users will be notified.
7. Await Petition Review¶
You will be notified via email once your petition is:
- ✅ Approved – Your group will be available on B2Drop and assigned users will have access.
- ❌ Rejected – You will receive the reason and further instructions if needed.
