What is Data Stewardship Wizard?

The Data Stewardship Wizard (DSW) is an open-source tool developed in the ELIXIR infrastructure. It helps researchers and data stewards to create Data Management Plans (DMPs) in an easy and efficient way, following the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable). The tool is very useful for organizing your data management plans properly.

DSW works with a questionnaire that is based on a knowledge model created by data stewards. This model helps to guide users step by step when preparing a DMP. Also, it gives an idea of how FAIR the project is, using specific indicators. This makes it easier to improve data quality and follow good data management practices.

Main features of DSW

  • Interactive Questionnaire: Guides users step by step to create a Data Management Plan (DMP).

  • Knowledge Models: DMPs are based on structured templates created by data stewards.

  • FAIR Assessment: Shows how Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable your data is.

  • Customizable Templates: Knowledge models can be adapted for specific projects or domains.

  • Collaboration: Multiple users can work together on the same DMP in real time.

  • Document Creation: Easily generate complete DMP documents from your answers.

  • Export Options: Export DMPs in different formats like PDF, HTML, or Markdown.

  • Access Control: Manage visibility and sharing settings for your projects and documents.
